An exhibition celebrating the charity’s 15th year, made up of postcard sized artworks by almost 200 emerging and established artists from across the world. The exhibition also includes a selection of image made by people displaced in Paris, Calais and Folkstone who have recently participated in Art Refuge projects.

Art Refuge uses art and art therapy to support the mental health and well-being of people displaced due to conflict, persecution and poverty, both in the UK and internationally. Our Work builds on peoples capacity to cope with stress, to hold onto imagination and to find resilience through community and connection

Postcards have a resonance in our work with refugees and those in transit. In our delivery, this takes the form of a box of postcards from around the world. Traditionally, they are sent from one person to another as a form of communication, often across national borders. They also act as social tools, visual engagement and reminders of a place, person or object which may be longed for.

Wish You Were Here is a statement of Welcome!
